SPONSORED BY: LOWELL & DOTTIE EDDIS In memory of John Paul Brantley
Info about the Sponsorship: Lowell and I met JP and his wife Jane while vacationing on Little St. Simons Island in 2016. We connected through a mutual love of birding, nature, good food, gardening, and progressive politics. We all returned for birding the following year. Soon afterward, JP was diagnosed with dementia. We visited them several times in Kentucky. One special memory was joining them for the Great American Brass Band Festival. Even in the late stages of dementia, JP would sit and listen to symphonies and choral works and close his eyes and conduct.
Last October Jane, Lowell, and I all visited the island once again. Jane had reimbursed me for too much deposit money and when I told her that I would send her a check, she said no, just make a donation or donations to whatever charity I wanted. So, I think it is appropriate that some of this money go to supporting classical music. When I told her of our plan, she said that she would like to come up for the concert. So, this is her donation too, and any credit should definitely be shared with her.
