Folk Life Series (#3): Seed Savin'

Folk Life Program Series Program #3: Seed Savin’

Alex and Zo owners of Fawns Head Grove are back to teach the how-tos of seed savin'.

Seed saving description: This class will be a comprehensive how-to on growing plants without buying seeds! We will have hands-on demos on screening and winnowing dry seed material, and a demo on wet seed saving (think tomatoes and fruits). We will discuss saving seeds like wildflowers and apples specific to our bioregion for genetic biodiversity and vigor. And saving your own garden seeds for locally adapted and tasty vegetables. We are happy to field questions on propagating specific plants you are interested in.

Highlights: dry seed processing, wet seed processing, lecture on the benefits of saving your own seeds.
