The River House in Capon Bridge, WV, is pleased to announce the selection of its new Executive Director.

Monica Wilson begins her role on February 14.

Monica is a resident of Capon Bridge where she runs a successful photography business. She has been a member of The River House Board since 2021, but her involvement with The River House extends back to 2018 when she first moved to Capon Bridge. She has been active in a variety of arts endeavors at The River House, plus she has rolled up her sleeves and contributed in a wide range of volunteer activities. Importantly, she has made many friends.

Monica commented, “I am thrilled to be appointed the new Executive Director for The River House! It is near and dear to my heart, as I have personally seen the ways the organization has benefited Capon Bridge through arts, music and community bonding. As we celebrate the first five years, I am excited to build upon that success and create a wider reach and even more vibrant program agenda alongside my creative team to support The River House’s mission and vision.”

Jennifer Archer, Chair of The River House Board, said, “The entire Board is excited to have Monica step up as the new Executive Director. With Monica’s combination of artistic and organizational skills, she is the perfect person to lead The River House into an exciting future.”

Monica replaces Nancy Silva as Executive Director. Nancy was approached by another organization and accepted an offer to lead it. Nonetheless, Nancy continues to believe strongly in The River House. “I love it. In fact, I feel that we should package up the concept and tell other small communities that here is a wonderful way to revitalize.”

Jennifer added, “We are so thankful that we have a talented staff and a dedicated group of volunteers and donors who help ensure that The River House will continue to be a dynamic part of Hampshire County and the surrounding region for many years to come.”
