Folk? Country? Blues? Rock and Roll? Sugar, vinegar, or spice? When Colin Cutler and Hot Pepper Jam show up, it's all on the table.

Colin Cutler and Hot Pepper Jam's music stretches across the American roots music world, from acoustic oldtime and alt country to electric blues and rock’n’roll, with touches of bluegrass and jam band energy.

The last couple years have seen them playing at Merlefest, Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival, the North Carolina Folk Festival, the Susquehanna Folk Festival, Antlers and Acorns Songwriters Festival, and the Carolina Bible Camp Bluegrass Festival, while selling out Greensboro's Flat Iron and touring for shows from Georgia to Indiana's Notre Dame University. Tarwater, their first release as a band, reached the top 20 in both Folk and Alt Country radio charts on its release. Check out Colin’s Website and Spotify

Raised in a small, West Virginia town, Joe Crites has been infused with traditional, roots-based music from the very start. From the high-lonesome, bluesy sounds of his father’s bluegrass banjo to the old, familiar church hymns taught to him around his mother’s piano, music has been a cornerstone of his life.

However, music took center stage for Joe, when, in his early teens he happened upon a concert by a legendary Christian rock band, DC Talk. This chance encounter would forever change the course of his life. “I remember walking up over a little embankment of the amphitheater and as the stage came into view I saw the smoky stage, felt the bass in my chest, heard the rock n’ roll guitars, the deafening crowd--I was hooked.”  Upon graduating high school he moved to Atlanta, Georgia for one year to study music at the Atlanta Institute of Music where he took his guitar abilities to the next level.

All of these past experiences have shaped Joe Crites and his music into what it is today; a brand of music rooted in traditional country and branches out into rock, blues, bluegrass and beyond. “When I play for a live crowd it’s not about me, it’s about the fans. All the hard work that it takes to put on a show is worth it so the fans have a memory that they will never forget.”
