Folk Life Series (#4): Fire Cider Brewing

Folk Life Program Series Program #4: Fire Cider Brewing

Alex and Zo owners of Fawns Head Grove are back for the final program in the Folk Life Series: Fire Cider

We welcome the community to join us for a fireside brewing demonstration. Bring a jar to fill at the end of the demonstration. We will fill jars and jugs while supplies last.

Be prepared for cold and flu season with strong herbal allies and the knowledge to use them. Fire Cider has been around in one form or another since time immemorial, combining warming herbs, vinegar, and local honey to create a potent elixir for health. This class will teach you the history of, recipes for, and all the myriad uses of Fire Cider. Be sure to bring a half-pint jar or bottle to fill up for free to help you get a jump start on winter.

Highlights: A brief history of fire cider, a demo of its creation and discussion of alternative ingredients, filling up folk's jars and jugs with pre-prepared fire cider
